I say that what you say is what I say

Tim Worstall has an excellent and chilling primer reminding all that the mere fact of being in a non-Canadian jurisdiction is no protection at all against being held to Canadian law, re: publication bans. Talk about overweening arrogance... You know, if someone were to propose that, say, North Korean law be made applicable in Canada, for actions performed entirely upon Canadian soil and by Canadian citizens, they'd be laughed down in seconds. What if Kim Jong-Il were actually able to persuade foreigners that incorrect haircuts in Toronto should rightly be punished, as harshly as Dear Leader himself liked, by Pyongyang? I don't really see the difference, on the scale of sheer awful-slash-hilarious overreach. (Via Michelle Malkin.)
