Sigh. As it turns out, the PM has caved yet again
on providing even the tiniest bit of support (40 soldiers! In the veritable sea of the 130,000-strong current American deployment, and 24,000-odd Coalition forces!) to ongoing operations in Iraq.
The really sad part is that the current mission is far closer to the supposed Canadian peacekeeping ideal than ever. If ever there was a noble cause to jump on at the last minute, surely defending a nascent democracy from the forces of chaos and incipient fascism fits the "What Canada is Willing To Help With" profile. Yet still the Liberals refuse to do the right thing, no doubt for fear of being flanked on both sides of the aisle. Business as usual.
