to the list of nattering celebrities who fundamentally misunderstand the nature of freedom of speech. Look, dumbass: It's not the Bush administration who shot down the Dixie Chicks.
It was their (former) fans, a great number of which didn't particularly feel comfortable paying to subsidize opinions they disagreed with. They had every right to say whatever they wanted to. But they also failed to understand that actions have consequences - and that being a successful musician is directly related to not enraging the audience.
Why is this elementary logic so hard for multimillionaire entertainers to understand?
